If you think Rameshwaram is a pilgrim place, then you should definitely read this.
Rameswaram is a small town in Ramanathapuram district, Rameshwaram is significant for the Hindus as a pilgrimage to Kasi is incomplete without a pilgrimage to Rameswaram, it also happens to be one of the twelve Jyotirlingas.
One thing that will astonishes you before even entering the Rameshwaram is the Pamban Bridge - Amazing Architecture(if you travel by Chenna - Rameshwaram express, then you will get to see it only during night and this will definitely scare you).
If you enquire anyone about some interesting places around, all you get to hear is Temples and pilgrimages. But it is not all, there are so many beaches in Ramanathapuram Dist, only very people know that.
Danushkodi: It is a very nice place, but if you have to be there, then you have to plan a lot, a minimum of 5 hours is required. And now you need some special permissions, since it is LTTE prone area.
Aryaman Beach: It is approximately 5 km from Pamban Bridge on the way to Ramanathapuram, it is a very wonderful beach, crystal Clear water, infact there were few boats and water bikes offshore, not sure whether they are in use. Good time to visit is 14 hrs to 16 hrs.
A couple of islands are there near by(forgot the name, will update) with shallow waters. The best place to hang out.
So next time when you go there, dont miss out these places. WIll updates the Photos soon . Still a lot to be explored.
