Day 01: Chennai
Your South India Architecture Tour
begins from Chennai. After you disembark from the

Day 03: Kanchipuram /Vellore /Tiruvannamalai

Day 04: Pondicherry

and Varadarajaperumal temple, the 14th century Gingee

Day 05: Chidambaram / Gangaikondacholapuram /
Darasuram / Kumbakonam / Tanjore
The fifth day will be a little hectic, as lots of
places will be covered. At Chidambaram, the focus
of attraction will be the 9th century Shiva temple,
along with Sarangapani Temple, Kumbeswarar Temple.
Next stop would be the temple at Gangaikondacholapuram.
After lunch, head out towards Dharasuram, a place
renowned for its Chola architecture. You will also
visit the temple of Kumbeshwar at Darasuram. The Tanjore
Temple will be the last stop of the day where you
can appreciate the rich Tanjore style of architecture

Day 06: Trichy
Day Six will bring you to Trichy where you will enjoy

Day 07: Madurai
The beautiful city of Madurai awaits you with her

Day 08: Periyar

Day 11: Mudumalai / Mysore

Day 12: Mysore / Srirangpatna / Somnathpur

late in the afternoon, to see the Devaraja vegetable
and flower market in its full glory. Overnight stay

Day 13: Hasan / Sravanbelagola
On the thirteenth day, enroute to Hasan, there will
be a stopover at the popular Jain pilgrimage site
located in Sravanabelagola. This Jain temple is known
for its 600 rock cut steps that lead to the hill summit.
It will be followed by trips to Belur and Halebid
where you can see glorious samples of Hoysala Architecture

Day 14: Hospet
After a long drive, you will reach Hospet that is
the gateway to Hampi, where you can get to see the
famous Tungabhadra Dam that is located on the River

Day 15: Hampi
The ancient city of Hampi served as the former capital
of the mighty Vijayanagar Empire. You will have a
field day exploring the astounding temples and the
ancient markets. The Virupaksha Temple, Vittal Temple,
Hazara Rama Temple and the Underground Virupaksha
Temple are testimony to the grand architecture of

Day 16: Aihole / Pattadakal
