Day 01: Delhi
As you arrive in the heart of India- the capital city of Delhi,
for the Buddhist Pilgrimage Tours, an India
Tour Guides representative will be there to greet you and
your family at the airport / railway station from where you
will be escorted to the hotel in Delhi. Spend the rest of
the day at leisure. In the evening, go for shopping at the
famous Connaught Place. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 02: Delhi
After breakfast, commence on daylong sightseeing city tour
of Delhi. Witness Delhi's rich architectural heritage in the
forms of Qutub Minar, Jama Masjid, Red Fort, Raj Ghat, India
Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Humayun Tomb, Purana Quila among
others. The evening will be free for shopping at the famous
markets of Delhi such as the South Extension and Hauz Khas
Market. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 03: Delhi - Patna
After breakfast and check out from the hotel, and drive to
the domestic airport from where you can board a flight for
Patna in Bihar, India. Check in to a hotel upon arrival, have
lunch and relax a while. In the evening, visit the Patna Museum
and Golghar. Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.
Day 04: Patna - Nalanda - Bodhgaya
On the fourth day of the Buddhist Pilgrimages Tour,
set out for an excursion to Nalanda, that used to be an important
centre of Buddhist learning in the olden times. After lunch,
drive to Bodhgaya, a holy Buddhist site. Enroute, stopover
at Rajgir that is a prominent Buddhist pilgrimage destination.
Arrive at Bodhgaya late evening, check in at a hotel, have
dinner and retire for the night.
Day 05: Bodhgaya - Varanasi
After a hearty breakfast, set out to explore the city of Bodhgaya
at leisure. Witness the numerous ancient temples and monasteries
the dot the landscape. Post lunch, check out from the hotel
and drive towards Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. On your arrival
at Varanasi the tour guide assists you to check in to a hotel.
You are free to spend the rest of the evening at leisure.
Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 06: Varanasi
Wake up early to the chanting of sacred mantras and visit
the numerous sacred ghats of Varanasi such as the Asi, Dashashwamedha,
Adi Keshava, Panchganga and Manikarnika Ghats. Later, enjoy
a boat-ride on the pristine clear waters of Ganges. After
lunch, there will be an excursion to Sarnath where Lord Buddha
preached his first sermon in 590 BC. Explore the quiet little
city at leisure and head back to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 07: Varanasi- Delhi
After breakfast, visit the famous temples of Varanasi
such as Vishwanath temple, Annapurna temple, Bharat Mata temple,
Durga temple and the Tulsi Manas temple. Late evening, board
a flight for Delhi. Check in at a hotel and retire for the
night.
Day 08: Delhi
On the last day of the Buddhist pilgrimage tours,
you will be driven to the airport/ railway station for the
connecting flight/ train back home.
